Job summary

ARM International is seeking a Systems Modelling Engineer to model complex systems in MATLAB and Simulink, design and validate algorithms, and produce robust auto-code for software components used in defence and aerospace.

You will perform performance assessments, validate model components against real data, upgrade legacy models, and document all changes with clear test vectors. 6-month contract; Stevenage or Bristol; up to £85ph Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink on complex models.
• Experience in algorithm design or validation.
• Familiarity with Radar and Digital Signal Processing.
• C programming experience for integration.
• Strong technical report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Model in MATLAB/Simulink using model-based design.
• Develop and implement algorithms within the model.
• Produce and verify auto-code from the model.
• Carry out performance assessments.
• Validate model components against real data.
• Document model changes and create test vectors.
• Upgrade legacy models to newer MATLAB/Simulink versions.

As the Systems Modelling Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Modelling in MATLAB and Simulink using model-based design techniques
• Producing parts of a complex model including modelling the target scenario, hardware, and processor algorithms
• Develop and implement algorithms within the model
• Producing and verifying auto-code for the software algorithms from the model
• Carrying out performance assessments
• Validating model components against real world data and writing up results
• Producing a simpler representation of the model
• Upgrading legacy models to newer MATLAB/Simulink Vectors
• Documenting the model changes and creating test vectors
• MATLAB and Simulink experience
• Modelling for auto-coding
• Assessing suitability of algorithms in the model
• Aptitude for converting an algorithm into a Simulink model
• Familiarity with Radar and Control Systems
• Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing
• RF experience
• Experience in C
• Technical report writing
