Job Description:

We are currently looking for a dynamic and passionate Systems Manager-Events & Collections, to join our IT department on a full time permanent basis.

As part of our Digital Systems team, the Systems Manager - Events & Collections is responsible for managing and improving Southbank Centre’s Events Management Application, Digital Asset Management (DAM), and Collections Management System. This vital role ensures that these systems run efficiently, providing high-quality user support and delivering strategic improvements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing business analysis, solution design, overseeing software development projects, and managing system administration, while leading and developing an Application Support Analyst.

This role will work across a variety of responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the subject matter expert for Events & Collections business systems.
  • Managing system improvements to enhance business processes and data management.
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Overseeing system support and helpdesk operations, ensuring requests are resolved efficiently.
  • Leading business analysis and project management for system enhancements.
  • Developing system training programs and documentation.
  • Ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with GDPR and industry standards.
  • Managing supplier relationships and ensuring service delivery meets expectations.

We are looking for someone with experience in enterprise database application management, ideally within the events or arts & culture sector. A strong understanding of the application support lifecycle, business analysis, and project management is essential for success in this role, along with the following key criteria:

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to drive system improvements.
  • Experience in system testing, user training, and database management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects, prioritising effectively.
  • Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and reporting.
  • Understanding of data protection, GDPR, and IT security best practices.

We would also welcome candidates with the following desirable skills:

  • Experience with Artifax Event Management.
  • An understanding of live event operations.
  • Experience working in a helpdesk or IT support environment.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team.
