About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer Manager with knowledge of Findur or Endur Treasury Management System (TMS) to join our Treasury Technology team in the UK.

As a Systems Engineering Manager you will play a pivotal role building and maintaining a performing team that consistently deliver quality outcomes, whilst empowering our engineers to make their own technical decisions. You will work effectively with internal and external business stakeholders and product teams to ensure the right outcomes are delivered, whilst formulating the technical strategy and roadmap for the area.

About The Team

The Treasury Technology team will be based across UK and India and is part of our wider Finance systems engineering team. The UK team focuses on enhancing our treasury system with a wider roadmap for developing alongside the strategic solution of Findur, whilst our team in India will focus on maintaining and running the current solutions in place.

This role can be based out of either our London Farringdon or Welwyn Garden City office (depending on your home location). Candidates should be able to communicate to either office from time to time

You will be responsible for

• You will formulate the technical strategy and roadmap for the treasury technology area in order to support the growth of our business objectives and maintain competitive advantage.
• You will drive architecture, design, implementation, adoption, and re-usability of technology, specifically Findur within your teams and the wider technology community, crafting a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Play an active role in people management and technical leadership, managing a small treasury engineering team to help deliver the programme requirements for the Treasury roadmap, building and developing high performing teams
• Take accountability for the environment that your teams operate within and the processes and standards that facilitate high quality systems (configuration) delivery.
• Ensure the right product outcomes through the right technical strategy and trade-offs.
• Build capability by hiring, retaining, and developing the careers of our engineers, ensuring opportunities for growth, and maintaining a level of challenge and motivation.
• Establish and sustain the environment for development to succeed.
• Ensure the right levels of processes, practices, and standards to configure and operate products, aligned to the wider Technology strategy and standards.
• Be in involved in evaluation and recommend appropriate products to meet business needs.
• Drive continuous improvement across teams and directorate, capturing the right data to affect our practices and delivery. I guide and empower my engineers to own technical decisions whilst understanding when guidance is needed.
• Play a major role in the process of releasing value to our customers.
• Be accountable for the products and proactively identify risks, propose mitigations, and understand when to escalate or ask for help.
• Build balanced, empathetic relationships with my stakeholders and product teams, collaborating effectively to ensure the right outcomes are delivered. I am a great communicator.
• Perform a leading role key system projects including major system and infrastructure changes, such as upgrades and change programmes
• Subject matter expert for the Treasury system and interfaces on all relevant projects and change initiatives ensuring that all functional and system requirements are taken into consideration during specification and implementation
• Be able to come up with various solutions on infrastructure and applications
• Provide specialist level configuration and functional knowledge in designing Treasury solutions within Treasury Management System
• Ensure that all projects impacting on the Treasury systems are performed in an appropriate manner, including appropriate degrees of testing, data validation and end-to-end process simulation
• Maintain and execute list of change requests taking into consideration business requirements, developing solution, testing, deployment guide and following Tesco change approval and deployment processes
• Facilitate the Front office/Middle office/Back office /Accounting teams by assisting them with Findur issues, operation issues and analyse system issues and take corrective actions while working through programme deliverables
  
  

You will need

Great stakeholder communications, with a skill set to translate business requirements into technical outputs

Experience managing a small team combined with resource management experience

Understanding of project methodologies and deliverable frameworks such as Agile, Scrum etc

Understanding of operations concepts: Production, Planning, Logistics, Storage, Distribution, Operations risk

Understanding of financial concepts - P&L, Accounting, Taxes, Financial Risk, Financial Instruments (derivatives traded products)

Experience in tools such as Eclipse (Luna, Mars) and MSSQL serverIdentify opportunities to streamline treasury processes through optimal use of Treasury systems

High level of interpersonal skills to enable effective communication with business and technology stakeholders and vendors

Understanding of systems architecture (Database, Application, Presentation and Network layers)

The ability to analyse, debug, and resolve application and/or technical system related issues and be able to analyse and customise Openlink Findur using AVS, JVS and MS SQL Server

Experience in working on large scale system projects such as system upgrades, maintenance releases and major systems change (new modules, interfaces, functionality etc)Hands-on Findur experience with financial instruments including, but not limited to, Cash, Foreign Exchange, Bonds and Loans combined with experience in various Openlink Findur modules/functionality

Strong knowledge of configuration and data structure of Openlink Findur or Endur Treasury Management System (TMS).

Experience in Findur would be a significant advantage.
