Systems Engineering & Assurance Advisor - Rail

We’re currently recruiting for a Systems Engineering & Assurance Advisor for our client, a large rail organisation. This role is critical in supporting the delivery of systems assurance, requirements management, and change control, with direct impact on operational readiness and project success.

This is a 9-month contract position with potential for extension, offering a hybrid work arrangement.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation (e.g., Validation Plans, Stakeholder Management Plans, Impact Statements)
  • Coordinate the Management of Change (MoC) process to support Testing, Commissioning, and alignment with the Safety Case
  • Maintain project-wide trackers including the Operational Readiness Action Register and Issues Register
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure assurance deliverables are met
  • Support systems assurance activities throughout Testing & Commissioning phases

Skills and Requirements

  • Prior experience in systems engineering, assurance, requirements management, project management or operational integration / readiness, particularly within Rolling Stock, Train, Tram, Bus or similar Transport Network Operations
  • Good written and spoken English language skills including the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels - Suppliers, Management, Government, etc.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or similar would be beneficial but is not mandatory
