Job summary

Positiv+ Cohort is seeking an experienced Technical Requirements Systems Engineer to drive the definition, structure, and governance of system and software requirements for a high-impact engineering programme.

You will own the requirements lifecycle from stakeholder engagement to detailed specification, ensuring alignment across engineering, development, and test teams, and supporting validation strategies with traceable documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in requirements engineering within complex systems environments.
• Proven track record delivering TRS / SRS documentation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and refine system requirements to align with programme objectives.
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear, structured, and testable requirements.
• Develop and maintain a robust requirements governance framework with end-to-end traceability.
• Own the creation and progression of TRS and SRS documentation.
• Define end-to-end system requirements including hardware, software, interfaces and constraints.
• Ensure requirements are testable and aligned with integration and validation strategies.

We’re looking for an experienced Technical Requirements Systems Engineer to drive the definition, structure, and governance of system and software requirements for a complex, high‑impact engineering programme.

This is a critical role at the heart of delivery — translating stakeholder needs into clear, testable, and traceable requirements that underpin system design, integration, and validation.

About the Role

You’ll take ownership of the requirements lifecycle — from early stakeholder engagement through to detailed specification — ensuring alignment across engineering, development, and test teams.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Analysis & Governance

• Analyse and refine system requirements to align with programme objectives
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear, structured, and testable requirements
• Develop and maintain a robust requirements governance framework
• Traceability (end-to-end)
• Version control
• Change management

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including:
• End users of test systems
• System designers and engineers
• Software developers
• Integration & test teams
• Facilitate workshops, reviews, and requirement validation sessions
• Ensure alignment between technical delivery and business needs

Documentation & Specification

• Own the creation and progression of:
• Technical Requirements Specification (TRS)
• Software Requirements Specification (SRS)
• Produce high-quality documentation that is:
• Clear, complete, and unambiguous
• Structured and maintainable
• Fit for engineering and test teams

System & Software Requirements Development

• Define end-to-end system requirements including:
• Hardware
• Software
• Interfaces
• Constraints
• Break down high-level requirements into:
• Detailed software functionality
• Performance and behavioural requirements
• Ensure full traceability between TRS and SRS

Integration, Test & Simulation

• Ensure requirements are testable and measurable
• Align requirements with system integration and validation strategies
• Support the use of simulation-led testing to validate system behaviour

Key Deliverables

Technical Requirements Specification (TRS)

A complete, high-level requirements document covering the full test system, including:

• Stakeholder-driven inputs
• Hardware, software, and interface requirements
• System constraints and dependencies

Software Requirements Specification (SRS)

A detailed, structured breakdown of software requirements that:

• Defines system functionality and behaviour
• Links directly back to TRS (full traceability)
• Supports development, integration, and testing

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in requirements engineering within complex systems environments
• Proven track record delivering TRS / SRS documentation
• Deep understanding of:
• System integration & testing
• Verification & validation processes
• Simulation-based testing approaches
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS, Jama, Polarion)
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Highly structured, detail-oriented, and analytical mindset
