About the job

The Presales team is looking for a System Engineer to provide pre-sales and post-sales support in relation to the successful selling of SAS solutions. This role involves relating technical concepts to SAS applications and user needs, participating in or leading the design and implementation of complex solution architectures, and sharing technical knowledge of SAS applications and solutions. You will also prepare and perform product presentations and demonstrations for current and prospective customers.

Responsibilities
  • Gather and assess customer requirements (functional and non-functional), converting these into detailed technical proposals in collaboration with the services delivery teams to support sales initiatives.
  • Deliver technical architecture information, lead discovery sessions, and respond to architecture and infrastructure questions as needed.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations highlighting technical features, competitive advantages, and business benefits of SAS software tailored to client needs.
  • Leverage technical expertise to support sales opportunities and implementations across various solution domains.
  • Assist in responding to RFI/RFPs with thorough and complete answers.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical leadership for sales opportunities.
  • Participate in product and solution training to maintain proficient knowledge of SAS offerings.
  • Support partner development, enablement, and partnered sales opportunities.
  • Utilize and communicate best practices and industry standards internally and externally.
  • Provide demonstrations and support at vendor-sponsored events, trade shows, and user group meetings.
  • Work proactively with the extended account team to strategize on opportunities, cross-training, and knowledge transfer.

Required qualifications
  • At least five years of experience in technical sales, marketing, support, or related fields, including three years of programming experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAS System tools.
  • Good knowledge of Cloud technologies, including Kubernetes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Understanding of industry standards, methodologies, technologies, and architecture.
  • Ability to relate technical concepts to SAS applications and user needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
