Job Description:
Leonardo has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer (Integration) to work on a high-profile project for the UK MOD. Working within the Combat Air business group, providing exposure to a wide-variety of Electronic Warfare (EW) products and subject-matter experts within domain, product, and technology fields. The successful candidate will contribute their knowledge and experience to the system integration, test, verification, validation and trials activities, supporting agreed project milestones. The role inherently requires a strong aptitude for problem solving and managing multiple system interdependencies across a number of Leonardo business groups.
Due to the nature of our work, you must be capable of achieving a minimum of SC security clearance and may require access to caveated information such as UK eyes only. Please see the UK National Security Vetting site for more details.
This role will require some office-based working, based at Luton.
What you will do:
Work alongside like-minded professional engineers in a highly collaborative environment.
Manage day-to-day tasking of junior engineers supporting Integration activities
Develop mentoring and coaching skills
Lead sub-system level testing and evaluation in a laboratory environment
Produce, analyse, and document test data.
Achieving acceptance / certification from relevant design authorities
Providing sub-system functional knowledge to direct system testing
Ensuring evidence accumulation from System-level activity
Support the definition and undertaking of system acceptance test procedures
Supporting software/hardware teams with development of low-level functionality
Engaging with customer network to ensure suitability of integration activities and timelines
Supporting development of the overall system trials strategy
What we are looking for:
Ability to obtain at least SC Clearance for UK-caveated programmes
A solid foundation in a relevant technical domain, ideally in an airborne / EW systems application
Experience of performing IV&V activities, including authoring test plans, procedures and reports
Demonstrable experience in writing and reviewing high-quality technical documentation
Experience of engineering gate reviews and the associated assessment of design compliance
Ability to cope with a high degree of design complexity and managing uncertainty
Experience of supporting design / delivery teams to develop complex, technical solutions in accordance with plans and processes
Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion
Strong communicator, both written and verbal
Experience of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders of varying seniorities
It would be desirable if you had:
Experience with product design and test standards for military systems
Experience of Synthetic Environments and their use in developing the overall engineering solution
