Role Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Engineer III to join our platform engineering function. This role will support the build, operation, and automation of our cloud-hosted systems, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enable modern infrastructure, deployment automation, and support critical business applications.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver resilient infrastructure and application stacks using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps best practices.
  • Monitor and support mission-critical, high-throughput services in production.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system and application performance issues.
  • Collaborate with Development, QA, Security, IT Operations, and Project Management teams.
  • Maintain accurate, well-written documentation for systems and services.
  • Contribute to cloud platform maturity, security automation, and deployment strategies.
Essential Skills and Attributes
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Solid experience operating in public cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP a plus).
  • Strong Linux and Windows system administration and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience with modern monitoring and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket).
  • Proven ability to design and implement scalable, secure system architectures.
  • Strong communicator, able to convey technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Able to mentor peers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Experience maintaining infrastructure code in versioned repositories and pipelines.
Desirable Skills
  • Infrastructure as Code experience with tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with cloud migration projects from on-premises to public cloud.
  • Familiarity with blue-green, rolling, and canary deployment patterns.
  • CI/CD pipeline experience using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
  • Working knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with centralised log management solutions (e.g., ELK, Graylog, Splunk).
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with change management processes and ITIL practices.
  • Use of secrets management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault).
  • Ability to write scripts or utilities in a high-level language (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Qualifications
  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
