Job summary

SoCode Limited in Cambridgeshire is seeking a qualified engineer to design and develop sensor control algorithms to meet performance and system requirements. You will model, simulate, and experimentally validate control systems while collaborating with hardware teams on MCU, FPGA, ADC/DAC considerations.

The role emphasizes embedded software implementation, firmware work, and applying MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ methods to real-world high-performance sensors.

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in control theory, signal processing, and system identification.
• Experience designing and testing high-performance control systems.
• Knowledge of PID, PLL, LQR, and Kalman filters.
• Proficient in C/C++ with Git version control.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, including model-based design and code generation.
• Strong numerical optimization and estimation theory background.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sensor control algorithms to meet performance and system requirements.
• Model, simulate, and experimentally validate control systems.
• Define requirements for analogue and digital electronics, including MCU, FPGA, ASIC, and DAC/ADC.

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong grounding in control theory, signal processing, and system identification
• Practical experience designing and testing high-performance control systems
• Knowledge of algorithms such as PID, PLL, LQR, and Kalman filters
• Experience developing in C/C++ with version control such as Git
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, including model-based design and code generation
• Technical skills in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and numerical optimisation and estimation theory
