Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd. seeks a software testing professional to validate software download and end-of-life (EOL) processes across pre-series and production builds.

You will test the software download system, establish repeatable test procedures, diagnose build issues, and coordinate with a contract manufacturer to optimize processes in a high‑volume environment. The role requires structured thinking, strong communication, and flexibility to travel.

• Establish and refine software download and EOL test processes for pre-series builds and volume production.
• Identify issues in the build process and develop contingency plans for prototype and series builds.
• Test processes and functionality and diagnose issues in EOL.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturer to implement and optimize processes in volume manufacturing.
• Additional diagnostics work during build phases (launch support).
• Feedback issues captured into issue management and escalated as necessary.

What to Expect

You will be responsible for testing and validating s/w download, and EOL processes for our products and rapid resolution of issues in plant. Collaboration with our partners and ensuring on-time delivery of activities will be key aspects of the role.

What You\'ll Do

• Support the implementation and test of the s/w download system.


• Establish and refine s/w download and EOL test processes for pre-series builds and volume production, ensuring repeatability and adherence to requirements.


• Identify issues in the build process and develop contingency plans to mitigate them both for prototype and series builds.


• Test processes and functionality and diagnose issues in EOL.


• Collaborate with and challenge our contract manufacturer to implement and optimize the processes in a volume manufacturing environment.


• Additional line on diagnostic work / systems works during the build phases (launch support)


• Feedback issues captured into issue management and escalated as necessary.

What You\'ll Bring

Business Knowledge

• Good understanding of electrical software / systems


• Broad amount of experience in an automotive systems engineering

Essential Functional / Technical Skills

• Experience in successfully leading the development & validation of new S/W download & EOL test processes.

• Willingness to develop skillset in manufacturing methodologies (lean, MTM, Line balance, RCA).
