Responsibilities
- Analyze traditional crew functions and tasks across Payload, Survey, and Marine Architect remote and autonomous systems to meet long-term customer technology roadmaps.
- Specify (write requirements) for remote systems, sub-systems, and components.
- Develop remote systems in line with the feature roadmap in collaboration with internal and external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with customer policies, practices, programs, and procedures as described in their management system.
- Complete required training as identified by the Customer Training Program.
- Participate in improving the Customer management system by reporting events, attending meetings and workshops, reporting problems, and suggesting improvements.
- Report any risks, hazards, or system deficiencies in the workplace using appropriate channels.
- Communicate and implement customer policies and procedures to employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Support the Customer’s health, safety, environmental, and social goals.
- Record and manage the overall USV Systems Architecture.
- Manage interfaces between systems in the architecture.
- Write requirements in Altium and MS Word.
- Identify potential suppliers and support them in developing compliant proposals.
- Contribute to safety, maintenance, and design documentation for regulators.
- Participate in failure and hazard analyses.
- Ideally have experience in safety-critical vehicle industries such as defence, rail, aerospace, or automotive.
- Be willing to travel to Southampton for workshops and project onboarding.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or evidence of progress towards Professional Registration with a PEI.
- Experience in Defence / Aerospace or safety-regulated environments.
Essential Skills
- Experience in requirements definition and management throughout projects.
- Verification, validation, and certification experience.
- Ability to decompose conceptual models into sub-systems and components.
- Effectiveness in early-stage ambiguous projects.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Expertise in requirements engineering and system architecture.
- Experience with system engineering tools like IBM DOORS, V&V.
- Engineering degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
- Proven requirements management and V&V/certification experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to challenges.
- Passion for technology and continuous skill development.
- Participation in ExpleoAcademy or similar training programs.
