Job summary

Redline Group Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an innovative rail technology company, covering the full systems engineering lifecycle from concept through to customer deployment.

This role will suit an engineer with experience in systems engineering, technical bids, systems integration or multidisciplinary engineering, looking to work on cutting-edge rail technology within a collaborative environment in Gateshead area.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Systems, Electronic, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience in systems engineering or multidisciplinary engineering.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle and requirements management.
  • Experience producing technical documentation and engineering specifications.
  • Understanding of networking and communication protocols such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, RS232 or RS485.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Rail, video systems, embedded electronics or systems integration experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system architectures, high-level designs and engineering documentation.
  • Capture and manage customer requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support technical bids, proposals, compliance matrices and engineering estimates.
  • Coordinate the integration of hardware, software and communication systems.
  • Produce interface specifications and support verification and validation activities.
  • Support installation, commissioning and customer acceptance testing.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Identify technical risks and contribute to project planning and delivery.

A Systems Engineer is required to join an innovative engineering business developing advanced train-borne monitoring and intelligent technology solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full systems engineering lifecycle, supporting the development of complex electronic systems from concept through to customer deployment.
