Job summary

ITI Group in Glasgow seeks a Systems Engineer to design, develop, integrate and test complex engineering systems for diverse clients. You will work across the project lifecycle with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet client requirements, on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with a relevant qualification or 4+ years in systems engineering or equivalent role.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
• Knowledge of SCADA/PLC/HMI packages.

Responsibilities

• Integrate subsystems and components to form a cohesive system.

We're looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team in Glasgow.

You'll have the opportunity to play a key role in the design, development, integration, and testing of complex engineering systems for a diverse range of clients. Working across the project lifecycle, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet client requirements and deliver successful project outcomes.

You'll combine your technical expertise with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills, ensuring systems are delivered to a high standard, on time, and within budget. You will:

• Develop system architectures, designs, and detailed specifications to meet client requirements.
• Integrate various subsystems and components to form a cohesive system, ensuring compatibility and performance.
• Execute system testing and validation activities to verify that systems meet design specifications and performance criteria.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test plans and operator manuals.
• Analyse and translate client requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.
• Participate in technical discussions with the project teams and identify and resolve technical issues.
• Support commissioning at client sites.
• Support and specify procurement activities as required.
• Be actively involved in the manufacture, assembly and testing of bespoke systems.
• Suggest changes and improvements if opportunities arise.
• Engage in continuous learning to develop technical skills and knowledge relevant to system integration.
• Communicate with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the delivered system.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, workshop and project management, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols.
• Supports the delivery of the project scope to company quality management system, process and procedures.
• Have base knowledge of client specific standards and international standards.
• Engage in quality and technical reviews.
• Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post.

We are looking for:

Experience and Knowledge

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with a relevant qualification or 4 years’ experience in systems engineering or equivalent role.
• Good understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.
• Good knowledge of Software Packages relevant to the role of a Systems Engineer i.e. SCADA packages, PLC packages and HMI packages.
• Familiarity and experience with system integration processes, tools and technologies.
• A basic understanding of industry and company quality management systems, process and procedure.

• Good verbal, written and presentation skills for effective collaboration and clientinteraction.
