Job summary

ITI Group in the United Kingdom seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to design, build, and deploy Real-Time Information Systems for energy, nuclear, and industrial clients. You will translate business needs into technical solutions using the AVEVA PI System and related technologies, delivering value through data-driven decisions.

You’ll work onsite or remotely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to proposals while ensuring safety, quality, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Experience with AVEVA PI System and real-time information systems.
• Proficient in MS Office and data analysis.
• Familiarity with scripting/automation for plant/industrial environments.

We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to play a key role in designing, building, and deploying Real-Time Information Systems and solutions that deliver long-term value for our clients. You'll combine technical expertise with a consultative approach, helping clients make better use of their data and technology to achieve meaningful business benefits.

Working both independently and as part of a collaborative team, you'll translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, developing applications primarily using the AVEVA / OSIsoft PI System and associated technologies. You'll work closely with clients to understand their challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver solutions and enhancements that meet their evolving needs.

You'll also contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of client systems, building strong relationships and providing trusted technical guidance throughout the lifecycle of each solution.

You will:

• Undertake a wide range of tasks related to the design, implementation, maintenance, and delivery of Real-time Information Systems solutions.
• Work with clients to identify solutions and enhancements for their systems that are appropriate to the needs of the clients.
• Produce Requirements Specifications and input to Design Specifications.
• Develop and execute Test Specifications.
• Design and develop applications as part of Real-time Information Systems, principally using the AVEVA PI System.
• Give clear, effective updates to Project Managers on status of their work.
• Work with other engineers and teams to review and clarify client requirements.
• Investigate and resolve problems with Real-time Information Systems.
• Work on client sites either in person or remotely.
• Assist with developing technical proposals.
• Set up and install RtIS (PI) servers and Interface nodes.
• Identify, clarify and resolve problems directly with customers
• Encourage and champion changes and improvements as opportunities arise.
• Engage in continuous learning to develop technical skills and knowledge relevant to system integration.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Have line managementresponsibility for assigned team
• Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols.
• Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post.
• Successfully complete all identified training both in-house and external, as required.

We are looking for:

Experience and Knowledge

• Excellent knowledge and experience of the AVEVA PI System
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge and experience in automation through the use of scripting or other similar means
• Experience working on client sites
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computing related degree.
