System Design Engineer
Permanent £70k - £75k Preston (4 days p/week on site)
Seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the Displays & Controls Subsystem team responsible for defining and maintaining the functional behaviour of cockpit design across multiple programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and maintain subsystem functional requirements documentation.
• Review and analyse problem reports from integration rigs and flight testing.
• Support formal reviews to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
• Analyse subsystem failures, identifying hazards and mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

• Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience.
• Strong systems engineering background in Aerospace or Defence sectors.
• Familiarity with design tools like Statemate, Artisan, Rhapsody, UML, and DOORS.
• Proven ability to derive system requirements from high-level objectives.
• Knowledge of hazard analysis methods and tools, such as Fault Tree+.
• Experience with equipment ICDs and stakeholder management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
