Capgemini Engineering is seeking Nuclear Systems Engineering Consultants to join our expanding team supporting a leading UK nuclear organisation.

Your Role

As a Consultant, you'll collaborate with leading experts in the nuclear sector on complex, high-profile projects. You'll have significant responsibilities from day one, contributing to the design and development of nuclear systems and working with cutting-edge technologies shaping the future of nuclear energy.

  • Design and develop nuclear power plant systems and components, ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Conduct analyses to optimise designs and meet safety standards
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations for stakeholders and regulators
  • Support business development by understanding client needs
  • Collaborate across teams and liaise with specialists and discipline leads
  • Manage requirements and product data using systems engineering tools

What do you need?

  • 2-3 years' experience in the nuclear sector
  • Understanding of nuclear physics, safety, and radiation protection
  • Knowledge of nuclear regulatory frameworks (e.g., ONR regulations)
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary engineering (mechanical, electrical, systems, safety, human factors, security)
  • Master's degree or higher in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years' nuclear sector experience, with at least 3 years in design development or analysis
  • Knowledge of nuclear power plant systems, advanced reactors (e.g., SMRs, Gen IV), and waste management
  • Experience with mechanical, structural, or I&C applications in nuclear
  • Familiarity with IBM Rational DOORS, Capella, Siemens Teamcenter, AutoCAD, MS Office
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body
