Job Description:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to join a leading defence organisation and play a key role in driving digital transformation across engineering disciplines through Model Based Engineering (MBE) initiatives.

This role performs the duties of Digital Systems Engineer and reports to the Head of Systems Engineering and Design Capability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the ongoing evolution and deployment of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices across UK programmes.
• Contribute to End-to-End Model Based Engineering (E2E MBE) initiatives, promoting modelling for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Drive adoption of generative AI tools within systems engineering, supporting development and deployment on live projects.
• Oversee initiatives in engineering data modelling, management, governance, and analytics.
• Produce and maintain best-practice guidance for emerging systems engineering methodologies.
• Deliver training, consultancy, and project support across key national and international engineering teams.

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong background in Systems Engineering practices and applications.
• Recent experience in MBSE implementation is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead digital engineering transformation or a strong willingness to grow in this area.
• Experience in delivering new capabilities across large engineering organisations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with multi-disciplinary and experienced teams.
• A relevant degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline.
