A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Systems / Business Analyst to assist a client in optimising their use of Dynamics AX 2012. The role focuses on assessing current usage, identifying improvements, training end users, and recommending configurations. The ideal candidate will have strong ERP system knowledge and experience in functional consulting. This is a 6-month contract position located in Maidstone, England.

Systems / Business Analyst | Maidstone

Contract: 6 months (TBC)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems / Business Analyst to help our client get significantly more value from their existing ERP system. While Dynamics AX 2012 is embedded in operations, it is not being used to its full capability. This role will focus on analysing current usage, identifying gaps and inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and leading training and adoption initiatives to ensure the system better supports the business.

This hands‑on, consultative role requires strong functional knowledge of Dynamics AX 2012, business process understanding, and the ability to engage and train end users.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct a detailed assessment of how Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is currently used across the business
• Analyse existing business processes and map them to Dynamics AX functionality, identifying gaps, workarounds, inefficiencies and under‑utilised features
• Identify missed capabilities within Dynamics AX 2012 and recommend practical improvements, configurations or process changes
• Work with stakeholders to define optimised future‑state processes that better leverage AX functionality
• Configure and fine‑tune Dynamics AX 2012 (within existing architecture) to improve usability, accuracy and efficiency
• Collaborate with IT, developers and third‑party partners when customisations or integrations are required
• Develop clear documentation, process guides and best‑practice recommendations
• Design and deliver role‑based training for end users, power users and administrators
• Provide hands‑on support during the implementation of improvements and change adoption
• Act as a trusted advisor to the business on continuous improvement of Dynamics AX usage

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 in a functional, consulting or solution‑lead capacity
• Strong understanding of ERP concepts and business processes (finance, procurement, inventory, manufacturing, sales, reporting)
• Demonstrated experience assessing under‑performing ERP environments and improving system adoption and value
• Ability to translate business needs into system solutions and process improvements
• Experience delivering end‑user training and change‑management support
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
