Role Overview

We seek a talented and proactive Systems Accountant to join our Finance team. This key role supports the Finance leadership in delivering statutory financial responsibilities and maintaining the integrity and resilience of our financial systems. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by supporting and enhancing financial systems at the heart of the Council’s operations.

Responsibilities

• Improve financial transaction processing, management, and reporting
• Maintain, develop, and enhance financial systems to meet modern needs

Qualifications and Skills

• Full membership of AAT or equivalent experience
• Membership of a CCAB body (CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA) or relevant degree
• Experience in maintaining financial systems, business process management, SQL, VBA, XML
• Experience with budget preparation, account closure, financial controls
• Familiarity with eFinancials or similar ERP systems
• Proficiency with Business Objects, Power BI, or other BI tools
