Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, innovative Specialist Family Therapist to join the new North Tri-borough 0-5 pathway. The post-holder will be co-located with the CAMHS teams and will play a key role in developing the systemic offer within the pathway.

The 0-5 team provides assessment and therapeutic interventions for infants, toddlers, preschool children, and their families during pre and perinatal periods. This service offers comprehensive assessments, evidence-based systemic psychotherapy, and consultation to professionals working with young children and families.

The post-holder will conduct assessments and deliver systemic psychotherapy for a range of presentations in children aged 0-5. They will provide clinical supervision to clinicians and trainees, offer specialist advice to CAMHS colleagues and external agencies, and work autonomously within professional guidelines and team policies.

Responsibilities include providing mental health assessments, formulating treatment plans based on research evidence and various assessment tools, and implementing systemic psychotherapeutic interventions. The therapist will draw upon multiple explanatory models, maintaining several hypotheses to inform formulations and treatment strategies, including short and long-term interventions that are inclusive and considerate of individual and family needs.
