Systemic Family Therapist - Looked After Children & Leaving Care Team

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Systemic Family Therapist within the Looked After Children & Leaving Care Team, based in Bexley.

The salary for this full-time role is up to £52,698 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead on embedding a systemic family approach within the Looked After Children and Leaving Care Service, aligning with the Signs of Safety Practice Model for Social Care.
  2. Assess presenting difficulties of children and family relationship breakdowns, make intervention recommendations, and provide evidence-based interventions.
  3. Provide specialist advice and consultation regarding diagnosis and intervention to colleagues and external agencies, working autonomously within professional guidelines.
  4. Contribute to the development, implementation, and audit of services for families with children.
  5. Conduct specialist assessments of complex referrals to formulate and implement intervention plans supporting parents and young people.
  6. Work sensitively and appropriately with families from diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
  7. Provide systemic psychotherapy with clinical autonomy, drawing on various models and brief interventions, considering individual family needs and developmental stages.
  8. Make highly skilled evaluations and decisions regarding intervention options, considering complex historical and developmental factors.
  9. Maintain knowledge of video equipment operation and promote ethical use in line with policy.
  10. Adhere to social care and directorate policies, including risk assessments, intervention planning, and accurate record-keeping.
  11. Review and develop structures, procedures, and working methods for effective service delivery.
  12. Establish and develop effective working relationships with partners across education, health, social services, and voluntary sectors.
Requirements:
  • Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
  • Experience in community and/or group work.
  • Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, relevant legislation, and agencies.
