Systemic Family Therapist - Looked After Children & Leaving Care Team
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Systemic Family Therapist within the Looked After Children & Leaving Care Team, based in Bexley.
The salary for this full-time role is up to £52,698 per annum.
Responsibilities:
- Lead on embedding a systemic family approach within the Looked After Children and Leaving Care Service, aligning with the Signs of Safety Practice Model for Social Care.
- Assess presenting difficulties of children and family relationship breakdowns, make intervention recommendations, and provide evidence-based interventions.
- Provide specialist advice and consultation regarding diagnosis and intervention to colleagues and external agencies, working autonomously within professional guidelines.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and audit of services for families with children.
- Conduct specialist assessments of complex referrals to formulate and implement intervention plans supporting parents and young people.
- Work sensitively and appropriately with families from diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
- Provide systemic psychotherapy with clinical autonomy, drawing on various models and brief interventions, considering individual family needs and developmental stages.
- Make highly skilled evaluations and decisions regarding intervention options, considering complex historical and developmental factors.
- Maintain knowledge of video equipment operation and promote ethical use in line with policy.
- Adhere to social care and directorate policies, including risk assessments, intervention planning, and accurate record-keeping.
- Review and develop structures, procedures, and working methods for effective service delivery.
- Establish and develop effective working relationships with partners across education, health, social services, and voluntary sectors.
Requirements:
- Social work qualification with registration with Social Work England.
- Experience managing social work caseloads and supervising others.
- Experience in community and/or group work.
- Knowledge of children’s health and social care systems, relevant legislation, and agencies.
