Job summary

The Systemic Family service operates within Kibble's Specialist Intervention Team, delivering systemic interventions to children aged 5 to 18 and their families across residential and home settings. This one-year fixed-term post requires Safe Crisis Management training and a degree or registration as a counsellor/psychotherapist.

PVG membership and travel to multiple sites are expected. The role emphasizes collaboration with education, health and local authority teams, as well as writing reports

Qualifications

• Degree level or above, or counsellor/psychotherapist route.
• PVG Scheme membership
• Registration with a regulatory body as a counsellor or psychotherapist
• Experience of providing interventions to families

Responsibilities

• Deliver systemic interventions for individuals, carers, staff and families.
• Work with children, young people and families in residential settings and in the family home.
• Provide direct family work: structured work with parents and carers, dyadic parent-child work, family-focused work with children and young people, and family support.
• Work closely with the therapeutic practitioners and the psychology team.
• Coordinate with education, care teams, health, support agencies and local authorities around each young person.
• Consult professionals and service users on systemic formulation and care planning.
• Provide systemic advice and guidance to professionals contributing to an intervention or care plan.
• Communicate assessment, formulation and intervention plans sensitively and skilfully to children and families.
• Write reports summarising systemic assessment, formulation or intervention outcomes
