Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (Chemo) Scheduler
The role involves scheduling patients' SACT treatment and outpatient appointments, communicating with patients and relatives face-to-face and via phone, and ensuring timely appointments. Additional administration skills are required. The individual must meet deadlines, communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and relatives, and maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times.

- Communicate complex chemotherapy appointment schedules to patients.

- Coordinate staff leave to ensure clinic coverage and provide cross-division support.

- Operate patient information systems and office equipment.

The post holder must follow protocols, SOPs, and standard practices. The administrative manager is available for support. Planning and organizing workload independently, using initiative to solve problems and respond to staff and patient inquiries.

- Sitting at a keyboard for data entry and moving case notes as needed.
- Concentration required for appointment scheduling and data entry amidst interruptions.
Emotional Effort
- Interacting with terminally ill patients and distressed family members.
Working Conditions
- Use of VDU, busy reception area, and exposure to ill patients.
- Occasional work at various Christie sites, requiring own transportation and a full UK driving license.
