On 1 July 2022, NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB) was established. The ICB is part of North Central London Integrated Care System (ICS). The ICS is a partnership of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined-up health and care services to improve the lives of people in our five boroughs: Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington.
ICBs are statutory NHS bodies responsible for planning and allocating resources to meet the four core purposes of ICSs:
• to improve outcomes in population health and healthcare
• tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access
• enhance productivity and value for money
• help the NHS support broader social and economic development.
North Central London’s population is incredibly diverse and continues to grow and change. This brings pressure and challenges for the local health and care services that NCL ICB commissions – or buys – on behalf of residents. NCL ICB works closely with Councils, providers, general practices, voluntary, community organisations, and unions to achieve our shared aims.
NCL ICB values our staff, our partners, and their expertise to deliver the best health and care possible for the patients and residents of North Central London.
We are committed to recruiting a workforce that is reflective of our diverse population, where individual contributions are encouraged and valued. We welcome and encourage applications from all candidates regardless of age, race, sex or gender identity, religious beliefs, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, caring status or neurodiversity.
Are you passionate about shaping the future of the health and care workforce? Do you have the skills to support innovative workforce projects that make a real difference?
Join us as a System Workforce Development Project Manager and help drive workforce development across North Central London (NCL).
Reporting to the Head of System Workforce Development, the postholder collaborates with health and care organisations across the North Central London Integrated Care System (NCL ICS) to support a sustainable, high-quality health and care workforce.
As a key member of the People and Culture Directorate, the Project Manager will lead and coordinate workforce development programs that enhance capability, maximise talent, and increase workforce flexibility across the system. A primary focus will be delivering the NCL ICS People Strategy by driving initiatives under the 'Workforce Development' workstream.
The role encompasses project management of programs aimed at equipping the workforce with the necessary skills to adapt to evolving care needs. This includes fostering collaboration among stakeholders, delivering impactful development initiatives, and ensuring alignment with system-wide strategic goals. The Project Manager’s efforts will directly contribute to building a resilient workforce that can deliver high-quality care close to where it is most needed.
The role involves supporting the implementation and sustainability of the Oliver McGowan mandatory training programme, restorative and just culture, expansion of health and care apprenticeships, and long-term workforce plans alongside related workforce development projects such as leadership and talent development.
Key responsibilities include embedding equality and inclusion for individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and other protected characteristics into project design and delivery.
