NHS Tayside is seeking a Network Support Technician to join their Network Team. The role involves supporting Data Network technologies and requires strong problem-solving skills, as well as good communication abilities. Candidates should have an HND/HNC qualification or equivalent knowledge, along with an eagerness to learn and develop in the field of data networking.

NHS Tayside has a vacancy for a Network Support Technician to join our Network Team within the Digital Directorate.
We are looking for a skilled individual who can act with minimal supervision to provide assistance and support, for Data Network technologies deployed across NHS Tayside.
Good communication and problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn new technologies, and a keen understanding of the requirements for Local Area Data Networking, SolarWinds Network Monitoring Platforms, Cisco Network switching and TCP/IP protocols will all be key areas. Knowledge or awareness of Wireless Networking, VoIP, Firewalls, Remote Access, Cisco Operating Systems and platforms are highly desirable but not essential, whilst an understanding of IT service management principles including ITIL foundation will also be advantageous. We would welcome candidates who have a keen interest in data networking and who would like to pursue a career in this field.
This post will be based at Mackenzie Building on the Ninewells Campus in Dundee, though extensive travel to other sites throughout Tayside will be necessary, you may also be expected to work on a temporary basis from other NHS Tayside bases if required. Participation in an out of hours on-call rota will be required after an initial training period.
The post requires HND/HNC level qualification, equivalent knowledge, or industry certification, plus proven experience in managing critical IT services. Fuller details can be obtained from the job description.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
