A local council seeks an assistant for the System Support Manager to oversee the administration of Economic Growth and Development's computerised systems. This role includes training staff in system usage, maintaining procedures, and producing analytical reports, requiring strong organisational and communication skills.
To assist the System Support Manager as required and where delegated by administering Economic Growth and Development' computerised systems and carry out staff training in the use of the systems and any procedures required.
The provision of advice, guidance to staff in relation to matters concerning the computerised systems and administration within Economic Growth and Development.
Carry out systems administration of computerised systems within Economic Growth and Development. Review and maintain business procedures.
Participation in training and development activities, as trainer and trainee, as required.
Designing and producing reports for Managers to monitor the effectiveness of their services through the use of reporting software.
Provide cover for the other System Support staff within Economic Growth and Development.
Liaise with the Council’s ICT Section on all ICT related items within Economic Growth and Development.
Contributing to the effectiveness of the service.
Ability to develop, maintain and review procedures
Experience of systems administration of computerised systems
Educated to a high standard, including college certificates (or equivalent)*
Minimum qualification of ECDL *
High level of accuracy in work
Good organisational skills
Ability to work within a team
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to absorb and process technical information
Ability to develop, maintain and review Procedures and Processes
Knowledge and experience of various software packages, including Word, Excel, Access and Power BI
Excellent analytical skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to develop, review and monitor work systems and data management
Ability to relate well with all levels of staff
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Willingness to work in a demanding position where a flexible and corporate approach is required
Willingness to accept direction/delegation
Ability to work in an open plan office

Interviews to be held week commencing 7 July.
Starting Salary: Grade 7, £33,439.90 or £17.74 per hour.
36.25 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
