Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for a Systems Requirements Manager to lead and manage requirements activities across the engineering lifecycle. This full-time role is based in Portsmouth, offering a hybrid work model. Ideal candidates have expert knowledge in Systems Engineering principles and experience with requirements management tools. Strong familiarity with ISO and IEEE standards is also required.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, strong systems thinking.
• Familiarity with ISO and IEEE standards for requirements specification.
• Proven experience in using requirements management tools.
• Understanding of full engineering lifecycle, including Waterfall and Agile; experience with JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage requirements activities across the engineering lifecycle.
• Maintain the requirements database and implement management processes.
• Facilitate tool integration and monitor requirements stability.
• Administer access, training, and support for requirements tools (e.g., DOORS, Next).
• Facilitate integration of tools and data exchange with third parties.
• Monitor requirements stability, generate metrics, and support documentation and specifications.

Systems Requirements Manager

Location: Portsmouth or Chelmsford - Hybrid

What you’ll be doing

• Leading and managing requirements activities across the engineering lifecycle
• Owning and maintaining the requirements database
• Defining and implementing robust requirements management processes, plans, and database schemas to meet project and customer needs
• Administering access, training, and support for requirements tools, e.g. DOORS, Next
• Facilitating the integration of tools and data exchange with third parties
• Monitoring requirements stability, generating key metrics, and supporting the production of requirement documentation and specifications

Your skills and experiences

• Expert-level knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, with strong systems thinking and holistic approaches to requirement definition and management
• Familiarity with key standards related to requirements specification, e.g. ISO 15288, ISO 12207, ISO 29148, IEEE 1016
• Proven experience in requirements management tools, e.g. IBM DOORS Next
• In-depth understanding of the full engineering lifecycle, including lifecycle models such as Waterfall and Agile, and tools like JIRA
