Job summary

MBDA is seeking an experienced Systems Functional Design Engineer in Bristol to join the RF Seekers Team. You will transform customer requirements into system architectures and drive verification through the V-model, gaining deep insight into RF seeker design.

You will work on a close-knit team, with hybrid working patterns and a salary circa 50,000–55,000 GBP depending on experience, plus a company bonus and enhanced benefits. BPSS clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience with deriving and managing requirements.
• Experience with generating Functional and Physical Architecture using SysML/MBSE.
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as DOORS / DOORS Next / Rhapsody / Capella.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink is desirable.
• Knowledge of RF/microwave, radar and control systems, DSP is desirable.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our RF Seekers Team. This is a phenomenal opportunity to be part of a successful team working at the forefront of technology, developing new and innovative seeker solutions from complex requirements.

Salary and Working Arrangements

• Salary: Circa 50,000 - 55,000 depending on experience
• Dynamic (hybrid) working: typically 4 to 5 days per week on site
• Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
• Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity

The Systems Design team is critical to the product development process, transforming customer requirements into lower level system architectures (Physical and Functional) and system requirements. The role covers the majority of the Systems Engineering V model, negotiating requirements with the missile systems customer through to the verification and validation process; you will gain a detailed understanding of RF Seeker design as well as building experience working with capable teams across all development activities.

You will be part of a close-knit, hardworking, and highly motivated team striving to develop one of the world's most advanced Seeker and Missile technologies. You will play a crucial role in this innovative development, witnessing the impact of your dedication and effort as the product is effectively deployed for use by the armed forces.

What We're Looking For

• Experience with deriving and managing requirements
• Experience with generating Functional and Physical Architecture using SysML, ARCADIA, or similar MBSE language
• Experience with Model based Systems Engineering
• Experience with Systems engineering tools like DOORS / DOORS Next / Rhapsody / Capella desirable
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink desirable
• Knowledge of RF/microwave and electronic systems, radar and control systems, and digital signal processing is desirable
