System Development Engineer, ShipTech Analytics

Amazon businesses continue to experience rapid expansion into new markets and geographies. To continue delighting customers worldwide, Amazon requires efficient integration with numerous external providers of all sizes to minimize fulfillment costs. Our Transportation Technology division develops complex software solutions that optimize the time and cost of package delivery across shippers and carriers. We are integral to Amazon's global operations, serving our customers and carriers. Currently, we are building a new carrier-facing product to replace manual processes and tools, aiming to simplify user experiences and enhance customer satisfaction. Our journey has just begun, and the potential is vast.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of programming experience in at least one modern language such as Java or Python.
• 2+ years of experience designing and architecting systems (including design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure such as S3, Lambda, RDS, System Manager, API Gateway, AppSync, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, EC2, IAM.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript) and object-oriented languages (Java, C#, C++).
• Knowledge of database systems, SQL, and infrastructure as code (AWS CDK).
• Ability to manage projects from scoping and design through to implementation and launch.
