System Design Engineer - Secure Maritime & Defence Projects
Redhill, Surrey | 5 Days Onsite
Up to £55,000 per annum
DV Clearance - Must be eligible
About the Role:
Produce high-quality electrical and mechanical drawings for secure government and maritime projects
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to develop design concepts and refine mechanical designs
Ensure compliance with EU directives and relevant technical standards in a regulated environment
Key Responsibilities:
Create 2D/3D CAD drawings, STEP files, and Visio diagrams to ISO standards
Apply knowledge of electrical safety, BS7671 wiring regulations, and manufacturing techniques for control panels and racks
Take ownership of projects, proactively solving problems and managing priorities under changing conditions
Essential Skills & Experience:
Minimum HND/HNC qualification or apprenticeship with five years' electrical/systems design experience
Proficient in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and preferably electrical CAD tools (SEE Electrical, ETAP)
Experience in producing compliant drawings within a regulated electrical engineering environment
Desirable Attributes:
Familiarity with BS8888 2017 and standards for EMC and LVD
Knowledge of electrical enclosure manufacturing and material properties
Ability to recommend CAD software solutions and contribute to continuous improvement
