Marston Holdings is continually expanding, and part of our growth is our Technology division, where we have attained Videalert and Vortex. We are the UK’s leading supplier of intelligent traffic enforcement and management solutions and a provider of smart city solutions that deliver high productivity at low operational costs. We offer environmental sensors, networks, and data solutions supporting global decarbonisation efforts, leveraging real-time data and cleantech technologies to drive environmental change.

Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a System Configuration Consultant to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent role working remotely with occasional travel to our office in Neath.

What you will be doing:
  • Supporting the technical team in the rollout and support of Videalert and Vortex products, including ANPR enforcement solutions, clean air zones, mobile enforcement vehicles, and air quality monitors.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with other departments to support new client projects and knowledge transfer to the service desk team.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation and data in the management system.
  • Guiding workshop technicians during build processes to prevent and resolve issues.
  • Understanding client configuration requirements, providing configuration guidance, assisting with installations and relocations, and conducting testing and optimisation based on client feedback.
  • Testing new releases, evaluating suitability for deployment, and making recommendations.
  • Managing system implementation from planning to handover, including testing and rollout.
  • Supporting the helpdesk team by performing system checks, reacting to alerts, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system uptime.
What we are looking for:
  • IT-related qualifications or working towards them.
  • Hands-on experience in system configuration, deployment, testing, and troubleshooting of computer systems, electronic devices, and software.
  • Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Hardware setup experience.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to document solutions thoroughly.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Meticulous management and documentation of system configurations and testing procedures.
  • Team collaboration skills and experience liaising between departments and stakeholders.
What's in it for you?
  • Full-time, permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, remote with some travel.
  • Salary: £40,000 per annum.
  • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Healthcare cash plan and employee discounts on retail, travel, and wellbeing.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity packages (subject to eligibility).
