Job summary

A leading tech firm in the UK seeks a System and Security Engineer for a 6-month contract based in Edinburgh. Engineer - System and Security Engineer

Your responsibilities:

1. Installation of Operating System patches and other third-party software such as Oracle, NetApp, etc.
2. System configuration and hands-on experience with GitHub and ClearCase

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

1. 5+ years of experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems
2. 5+ years of experience with C, Java, Oracle Database SQL, Shell Scripting; ability to read and interpret logs & debug files
3. Experience in installing Operating System patches and third-party software such as Oracle, NetApp, etc.
4. System configuration and hands-on experience with GitHub and ClearCase
5. Proficient in TRELLIX

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience

1. Experience in applying fixes on live customer systems
2. Proven track record in problem analysis, identification, and resolution
3. Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills; good communication skills (verbal and written)
4. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Outlook
