Our client is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to join their expanding organization that supports critical applications in healthcare, finance, and government sectors. The company is privately owned, headquartered in the UK and USA, with global offices, serving millions daily across more than 100 countries, employing over 200 staff in the UK and 1,800 worldwide.

The role is based in a prestigious new office near Windsor train station, with a flexible work arrangement of 3 days in the office per week due to the vibrant company culture.

You will be involved in designing server layouts, ensuring adequate space, power, and cooling, and collaborating with engineering teams to optimize performance and efficiency of hosted solutions.

As a Senior Linux System Administrator, you will support all hosted services, resolve incidents promptly, and deploy approved updates as needed.

The core technical environment:

• Linux deployment and management experience with RHEL
• Automation experience with Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc.
• VMware 6 deployment and management experience (handling hundreds of virtual servers)

This environment is mission-critical. You must have experience working with live production environments, as server downtime is unacceptable. Your troubleshooting skills and proactive problem identification will be crucial.

Responsibilities:

• Lead deployment of new applications and updates, maintaining documentation and monitoring
• Administer and maintain hosted solutions, including firewalls, switches, servers, and storage
• Provide technical support across hosted services
• Provision and deploy server, network, and hosting equipment, including hands-on configuration
• Coordinate with stakeholders for pre-operational sign-offs
