Hours of Work: Permanent Full Time (37.5 hours per week)
Position Summary
Bio-Techne is a world-leading developer and manufacturer of high-quality biological reagents and we are seeking an experienced Synthetic Organic Chemist to join our chemistry team in Bristol. We are looking for a vibrant and dynamic person to join our highly skilled and experienced team of chemists working on product development for Tocris (a Bio-Techne Brand), including complex syntheses of biologically active small molecules (chemical probes and tools) and novel custom synthesis work for both internal research initiatives and external clients.
Key & Responsibilities
Achieve targets of product quantity and quality within an agreed timescale and budget
Generate, collate, and analyse data on synthesis steps and final products using our extensive in-house facilities
Generate high quality project reports for internal and external customers and detail work in electronic laboratory notebooks and other documentation
Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on workload, prioritisation, and progress
Work in a safe, tidy, and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
Education & Experience
PhD degree in organic chemistry (or closely related discipline)
Related industrial experience preferable
Detailed knowledge of organic chemistry
Knowledge of, and adherence to, required quality and safety standards
High level of personal and independent productivity
Decision making and problem-solving skills
Practical ability and analytical data interpretation skills

Highly collaborative with effective team-working skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
