Company Introduction

CC Bio is an award-winning synthetic biology company, a subsidiary of Precisio Biotix Inc. since 2024, based at the Imperial Translation and Innovation Hub (iHUB), West London.

We develop antimicrobial enzymes for therapeutics, leveraging systems biology, synthetic biology, microbiology, and proprietary ML platforms, positioning us as leaders in enzyme design.

Role Overview

Seeking a motivated molecular/synthetic biologist for a 24-month grant project in Women’s Health starting August 2025. The role involves working closely with bioinformaticians and microbiologists in our London lab to develop enzyme-based therapeutics targeting anaerobic pathogens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify enzyme candidates using our Zeus platform.
  • Refactor enzyme gene libraries, design recombinant protein strategies, and purify proteins in high throughput formats.
  • Manage vector selection, primer design, cloning, and protein expression protocols.
  • Establish purification protocols, validate candidate purity, and interpret stability data.
  • Maintain detailed experimental records for reporting and publication.

Requirements

  • At least MSc, preferably PhD, in molecular biology, synthetic biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of DNA assembly, cloning, PCR, DNA extraction, plasmid prep, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, and protein purification.
  • Experience with E. coli and other microorganisms for protein expression.
  • Experience with ÄKTA or similar chromatography systems.
  • Ability to independently design experiments and review literature.

Additional Skills (Nice to Haves)

  • Experience in a biotech commercial setting.
  • Automation experience in protein purification.
  • Knowledge of protein stability assays or structural techniques.
