Company Introduction

CC Bio is an award-winning synthetic biology company, a subsidiary of Precisio Biotix Inc. since 2024, based in West London.

We develop antimicrobial enzymes for therapeutics, using systems biology, synthetic biology, microbiology, and ML-based platforms, aiming to combat antimicrobial resistance.

Description of Your Role

Seeking a motivated molecular/synthetic biologist for a 24-month grant project in Women’s Health starting August 2025. You will work in our London lab, collaborating with bioinformaticians and microbiologists to develop enzyme-based therapeutics targeting anaerobic pathogens.

Your responsibilities include conducting assays, designing and producing recombinant proteins in host systems like E. coli, and characterizing these candidates.

What You’ll Do in This Role

Identify enzyme candidates using our Zeus platform, refactor gene libraries, optimize expression and purification, and analyze candidate stability and properties, maintaining detailed records for potential publication.

Requirements

  • At least MSc, preferably PhD, in relevant biological sciences.
  • Knowledge of DNA assembly, cloning techniques, PCR, plasmid prep, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, and protein purification.
  • Experience with E. coli and other microorganisms, and chromatography systems like ÄKTA.
  • Ability to independently design experiments and review literature.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in biotech industry, automation, protein stability studies, or structural biology.

Working Style

  • Creative, collaborative, receptive to feedback, and motivated by impactful projects.
