We develop antimicrobial enzymes as next-generation therapeutics, using systems biology, synthetic biology, and microbiology, combined with ML-based protein discovery platforms.
Description of Your Role
Seeking a motivated molecular/synthetic biologist for a 24-month project starting August 2025 in Women’s Health. You will work in our London lab, collaborating with bioinformaticians and microbiologists to develop enzyme-based therapeutics targeting obligate anaerobic pathogens.
Your main tasks include conducting assays to discover, design, produce, purify, and characterize proteins against clinical vaginal pathogens.
What You’ll Do in This Role
Identify enzyme libraries using Zeus platform, refactor gene sequences, design recombinant protein production strategies, and purify proteins in high throughput formats.
Responsibilities include vector and primer design, cloning, protein expression optimization, purification, and data recording.
Requirements
Minimum MSc, preferably PhD, in relevant fields. Experience with DNA assembly, cloning, PCR, protein purification, and working with E. coli or similar organisms. Experience with ÄKTA systems and literature curation.
Additional Skills
Experience in biotech industry, automation, and structural studies are advantageous but not essential.
