Job summary

Hiscox is seeking a qualified accountant to support the Syndicate Accounting and Reporting team during a transformation to an offshore outsourcing model. You will oversee ledger controllership, regulatory returns, and external/internal reporting for three managed syndicates, with a onshore team in London and Colchester.

You will partner with Group Finance, Actuarial, IT and auditors, driving improvements, ensuring deadlines, and mentoring the team in Lloyds reporting and governance.

Qualifications

• Be a qualified accountant and/or have relevant experience in a senior accounting and Lloyds Reporting role.
• Be educated to degree level and/or have relevant demonstrable experience in syndicate financial accounting and reporting.
• Have excellent working knowledge of Lloyd’s reporting requirements, IFRS 17 and UKGAAP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Lloyd’s quarterly and annual regulatory returns including QMA, SITUS, NAIC, TRIA, TPD, SIS, UK Tax, SII, SUK, RRQ, Annual Accounts for Syndicates, Managing Agent, and Corporate Member.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and differences explained; perform BS analytics.
• Build relationships with stakeholders in Group Finance, Actuarial, Syndicate reporting, IT to improve reporting quality.
• Drive development and implementation of processes to create reporting efficiencies and accurate financial information.
• Mentor and coach team members on Syndicate Accounting and Reporting.
