Join a friendly, progressive team and contribute to transforming pathology services across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw. This role is based at the Northern General Hospital's Phlebotomy Drive Through, part of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Partnership, offering a core 37.5-hour week with possible hours between 07:30 – 17:30, Monday to Saturday. Visiting the site beforehand is recommended to understand its operation.

Main duties of the job

You will support patients by providing blood sample collection primarily at the Northern General Hospital's Drive Through. The service includes drive-in blood collection, outreach community phlebotomy, and Point of Care Testing. The role involves training to perform duties across all SYBP sites, promoting service parity and flexibility.

Education and Qualifications

• GCSE in Maths and English at level C/4 or above or relevant laboratory experience
• Willingness to complete competency packages and additional training (A level/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Willingness to undertake training for clinical observations
• Phlebotomy training or prior competence evidence

Experience

• Ability to follow SOPs and policies
• Understanding of job content
• Teamwork skills
• Experience with laboratory techniques or transferrable clinical experience
• Previous NHS experience
