The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw (SYB) Pathology Network is a fully integrated network providing pathology services across five regional sites:
We are inviting applications from enthusiastic, driven individuals to join our Haematology teams at the Doncaster and Bassetlaw sites.
SYB Pathology aims to provide the best possible service for patients and clinicians, improving health outcomes, driving research and innovation, delivering healthcare efficiencies, and ensuring a sustainable workforce, providing job satisfaction and career progression opportunities for all staff.
The post holder will act as an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist providing scientific services to patients as an aid to clinical diagnosis. The successful candidate will be required to participate on the 24/7 shift rota and undertake a wide range of complex analytical procedures, performing manual, semi-automated, and automated tests using scientific knowledge and experience to comment upon and validate results in line with ISO 15189.
Suitable candidates will require Haematology experience post-registration and ideally have experience working out of hours. Candidates must possess an IBMS specialist portfolio in either Haematology or Blood Sciences, or equivalent, to be appointed at Band 6. However, registered candidates working towards or aspiring to complete their specialist portfolio will be considered for appointment at Band 5.
Please note: this vacancy is banded depending on applicants' experience relevant to this post. The banding of the successful applicant(s) will start at Band 5 unless they meet the necessary skills and experience to start at Band 6.
