We are seeking a Newborn Hearing Screening Site Lead to join our dynamic team and play a key role in ensuring the best possible start for newborns and their families. As a site lead, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the newborn hearing screening programme across our South West London sites and The Portland Hospital. You will provide leadership and support to a team of screeners, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with national screening protocols, and excellent family-centred care.

The post holder will assist the SWL NHSP Programme Lead with clinical and operational service delivery of the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme in South West London and The Portland Hospital.

Main duties of the job
  1. Lead and support teams of newborn hearing screeners and senior screeners.
  2. Ensure screens are conducted efficiently and accurately.
  3. Provide training, mentoring, and quality assurance.
  4. Maintain accurate records and data management.
  5. Promote awareness of the newborn hearing screening programme.

Job description
Job responsibilities
  • Assist with leading the team to ensure cohesive work and support the organization’s vision and values.
  • Manage annual leave for senior screeners and in their absence, approve leave for screeners.
  • Cover the SWL Programme Lead’s duties as agreed with the Clinical Service Manager.
  • Ensure annual appraisals and mandatory training requirements are met for self and team, along with other relevant KPIs.
  • Assist with organizing screener training and update sessions.
  • Support the NHSP Programme Lead with Health Roster as required.
  • Manage and review outpatient clinics with the Patient Pathway Coordinator and Senior Screeners to meet screening targets.
  • Ensure all learners are progressing through the HSD course and support their timely completion.
