Switchgear Installation Engineer / Fitter

Salary:

£27,000.00 - £35,000.00 depending on experience

Job Overview:

Our client, a young, dynamic company specialising in designing, installing, and maintaining high voltage systems, is looking for a Switchgear Installation Engineer / Fitter to join their team. This role involves installing and commissioning switchgear and other electrical components, conducting tests, collaborating with engineers, and troubleshooting issues. Key Responsibilities:

1. Install and commission high voltage switchgear and electrical equipment.
2. Conduct tests, inspections, and functional checks to ensure adherence to safety standards.
3. Collaborate with engineers and project managers on installation designs.
4. Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
5. Perform wiring, cabling, and interconnections using appropriate tools.
6. Troubleshoot installation issues and assist with repairs.
7. Coordinate with other trades for seamless integration of equipment.
8. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
9. Document installations, test results, and maintenance activities.
10. Provide technical support to team members.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in high voltage systems.
2. ECS Card Required.
3. Sound knowledge of switchgear and power transmission equipment.
4. Proficiency in reading electrical drawings.
5. Familiarity with electrical codes and safety procedures.
6. Experience in wiring switchgear components.
7. Strong problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
