An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as a telecoms operator. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth communication within the hospital, as you will be the first point of contact for inquiries and emergencies. With a focus on customer care, you will manage calls, operate switchboard equipment, and handle emergency situations. The position offers a structured 6-week rota, allowing for work-life balance while contributing to a vital service in the community. The role involves answering the majority of incoming calls to the hospital, ensuring they are directed to the correct persons or departments. You will also manage emergency phones and alarms.
Work is based on a 6-week rota, which includes lone working and weekends.
Key responsibilities include:
Good telephone manner, IT literacy, and excellent communication skills are required.
We serve a population of approximately 700,000 across Bedfordshire and surrounding areas, with two hospital sites in Bedford and Luton offering services such as A&E, maternity, and paediatrics.
