Sodexo are currently recruiting for a Switchboard Operative.As a Switchboard Operator on our Hereford Contract, you'll be the first voice our clients and customers hear, setting the tone with professionalism, warmth, and care.Working closely with our Switchboard Supervisors and team, you'll deliver a high-quality telephony service that makes a real difference.This is your opportunity to bring your customer service skills to life and be part of a supportive, purpose-driven team. What You'll Do:
Operate the BTS system and Multitone bleep system to manage calls, initiate pagers, and accurately relay emergency information.
Communicate effectively and empathetically with callers, staff, and management, including handling sensitive or complex information appropriately.
Assess caller needs to signpost them to the correct department and support services.
Receive and process out-of-hours transport requests and maintain accurate on-call sheets for out-of-hours personnel.
Perform lone worker checks and respond appropriately; work independently outside core hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
Support Major Incident Plans by acting as a central communication point, relaying messages, and updating emergency contact records.
Report system or equipment faults promptly and maintain accurate written logs during emergencies.
Work as part of a 24/7 team, covering shifts and providing flexible support including overtime when required.
