Overview

Dean Close Foundation are looking for a Swim Teacher for Dean Close School. As a swimming instructor your primary role is teaching people of all ages and abilities to learn or develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. The role requires supporting a safe and secure environment for children, students, staff and visitors to The Dean Close Foundation. Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality lessons in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • You must assess each swimmer’s needs and abilities to the best of your professional experience and work appropriately with them as individuals.
  • Keep your work area on poolside tidy; ensuring pool rules are adhered to and always be alert and aware while supervising your group.
  • Know your swimmers. Write short reports at the end of each term for every swimmer and regularly update Swim School managers on your groups/individuals; note any issues or changes.
  • Assess Ability/Stages. The Dean Close Swim School uses an adapted variation of Swim England Stages. Be aware of these when teaching and assessing swimmers, ensuring that prior to moving a swimmer up a group they have achieved the criteria on numerous occasions before staging up.
Qualifications
  • Experience with a School pool or similar environment is preferred.
  • Hold a valid Pool Plant Operator Certificate and NPLQ qualification, or be willing to undertake training toward these for the role.
