You will also assist with routine checks, housekeeping standards, and customer safety, especially for the class members in your charge during lessons.

We are looking for people who enjoy regular interaction with our customers and will do so in a warm and welcoming manner. You will often be the team member that customers build a relationship and trust with, and therefore you will have a great deal of responsibility for representing LeisureSK professionally and efficiently; remaining calm in difficult situations, being proactive in resolving issues where possible or reporting immediately to management if not.

Swimming teacher responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the standards of the Swim School brand in accordance with the Swim School procedures.
  • Organising, planning, executing, and evaluating a structured programme using the ASA Learn to Swim Pathway.
  • Ensuring that the Swim School records (currently Learn2) are updated appropriately with attendance and assessment data.
  • Ensuring all activities are FUN and helping to promote a successful and caring image of the Swim School and the Company.
  • Supporting any other swimming-related activities deemed necessary to provide a quality development programme.
  • Taking opportunities to update and improve technical knowledge through continuing professional development and staff training.
  • Identifying suitable pupils for exit routes to performance and excellence pathways.
  • Ensuring a high standard of customer care at all times, adopting a warm and welcoming manner to encourage communication with customers.
  • Being aware of your responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensuring health & safety procedures are fully met to maintain a safe teaching environment for pupils and other centre users/ team members.
  • Having full awareness of the PSOP.
  • Understanding and being fully conversant with the Emergency Evacuation Procedure as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
  • Completing other reasonable tasks as requested by the management team.
  • Attending all scheduled team meetings and training events.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Enhanced DBS check and a check of the Adults & Children’s Barred Lists before appointment can be confirmed.
