Job summary

North Yorkshire Council’s Leisure Services invites applications for Level 2 Swim Teachers at Northallerton Leisure & Wellbeing Hub. The role offers part-time hours with relief shifts to cover annual leave and sickness, across a single site or multiple sites within the hub.

The successful candidate will plan, deliver and evaluate swimming lessons, promote water confidence, safety and technical skills for learners of all ages and abilities, while following council policies and Swim England

Qualifications

• Plan and deliver effective swim teaching aligned with Swim England framework.
• Demonstrate safeguarding knowledge for children and vulnerable adults.
• Maintain health and safety practices in swimming lessons.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver enjoyable swim lessons for varied ages/abilities.
• Provide customer care and feedback on progress.
• Deliver lessons at one or multiple sites within Northallerton Leisure & Wellbeing Hub.
• Follow North Yorkshire Council policies and procedures at all times.

Job description

*All hours are across 7days Mon-Sun

We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Swim Teachers to join our leisure & wellbeing hub.

We are passionate about providing a safe and comprehensive swimming lesson programme for all ages and abilities.

We are currently seeking Swim Teachers at Northallerton Leisure & Wellbeing Hub; we currently have part-time hours, allowing us to grow our swimming scheme.

We also have relief hours available to cover staff annual leave & Sickness.

As a swimming teacher you will work within North Yorkshire Council’s Leisure Services team to plan, deliver and evaluate a series of swimming lessons providing a safe learning environment. Either based at one site or multiple sites. You will help develop water confidence, safety and technical skills across a range of participants of different abilities from non-swimmer to advanced, providing excellent customer care and feedback on progress. North Yorkshire Council’s policies and procedures will be followed at all times.

What we need from you:

• To plan and deliver effective, enjoyable and motivational swim teaching and instruction programmes in line with the Swim England framework whilst being customer orientated at all times.
• Awareness of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
• Aware of health and safety practices
• Ability to work effectively within the swim teachers’ team
• Be able to give clear, accurate and assertive instructions verbally to lesson customers
• Be able to adapt to different age/ability of lesson customer and sensitive to their individual needs
