Pay Range

This range is provided by Ducklings and Dolphins. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base Pay

£20 per hour.

Training & Requirements

• Participate in 1-hour training sessions every 40 hours worked.
• Appropriate certificates: ASA Level 2 or equivalent (Required).
• Follow Ducklings and Dolphins rules, policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work.
• Enhanced DBS checked.

Job Description

Assist in teaching and coaching individuals of all ages to develop swimming skills, technique, and confidence. Focus on technique-based but fun teaching, emphasizing that practice makes permanent. Demonstrate enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards swimming. Communicate effectively with children and adults, inspiring confidence and motivation. Be patient and encouraging, understanding individual needs and differentiating coaching sessions accordingly. Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and organization in organizing and delivering swimming classes. Work well as part of a team.

Skills required include a good understanding of relevant policies and child development, as well as experience working with children and individuals with learning difficulties.

Main Duties

• Ensure safety standards are followed, equipment is used correctly, and conduct risk assessments.
• Identify participants’ abilities and encourage their development.
• Plan and deliver appropriate sessions, demonstrate techniques, and correct faults.
• Create a positive, motivating, and fun environment.
• Set ground rules, evaluate sessions, and provide feedback.
• Regularly assess progress and arrange for awards or recognition.
