A local swimming instruction center in Leeds is seeking a qualified swim teacher to help individuals of all ages develop their swimming skills and confidence in water. The ideal candidate should have a Level 2 swim teachers qualification and be DBS checked. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, planning sessions, and motivating swimmers in a fun and engaging environment. A positive attitude and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

Formación

• Must have a Level 2 swim teacher qualification.
• DBS check required.

• Ensure safe provision and correct use of all equipment.
• Make sure safety standards are followed and undertake risk assessments.
• Identify participants' abilities and encourage them to reach their potential.
• Plan and deliver swimming sessions appropriate to skill levels.
• Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques.
• Create a positive and fun environment for all participants.

Job Details

Take part in 1 hour training session every 40 hours worked. Appropriate certificates: ASA Level 2 or equivalent (Required).

Additional Requirements: Enhanced DBS checked.

Pay: £20 per hour. Location: Bradford/Leeds.

Role: To help teach and coach people of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. We focus on technique-based but fun teaching with the philosophy of practice makes permanent.

Skills

• Ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers.

• Ability to encourage people and put them at ease.
• Understanding of how to differentiate in a coaching session.

Knowledge

• Understanding of relevant policies and codes of practice.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Working and caring for children and a wide range of barriers to learning, including any additional support and/or learning difficulties.

Main Duties

• Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly.
• Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments.
• Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential.
• Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer; provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques; correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance.
• Be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming.
• Set ground rules for each session.
• Evaluate sessions and give feedback; regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress and arrange for the award of the
