Job summary

Wiltshire Council is seeking a Swimming Teacher to join the Aquatic team on a casual, flexible basis. Roles are as-needed with no fixed hours, teaching children in leisure settings and promoting safe, enjoyable classes.

Salary ranges from £16.89 to £18.04 per hour, plus a 10% market supplement. Prior Swim England Level 2 or equivalent qualification is preferred; Level 1 with progression may be considered.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Swim England swimming teacher qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching children in a leisure environment.
  • If not Level 2, must be booked onto a Level 2 course.
  • Able to keep children and vulnerable adults safe; good communication and organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Teach swimming classes (group or 1-1) as part of a programme.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of participants.
  • Inspire health and well-being in the community through swimming.

Our Swimming Teachers are a vital part of our team. They teach safe, fun, effective and enjoyable classes as part of a swimming programme or 1-1 tuition environments.

With a level 2 or above Swim England swimming teacher qualification or equivalent, you should have experience of teaching children within a leisure environment. If you do not hold a level 2 or above Swim England swimming teacher qualification may be considered for the postif you hold a minimum of a level 1 qualification and can evidence that you are booked onto a level 2 course to complete your qualification.

As a casual worker, you'll have no fixed hours and will work on an as-needed basis, depending on Wiltshire Council's requirements and your availability. You are not obligated to be available, and the Council is not obliged to offer you work.
